No Clients, No Shame: How I Filled My Books
I can't believe this happened, therapists but it did and I'm going to share the story so you can learn from it.
The first clue was when I received three different emails and two messages asking if I was still providing supervision.
Say what?
For those of you who don't know I have expert level supervision skills in schema therapy and EMDR and am able to provide ISST certification and EMDRAA accreditation focused supervision. Outside of course sales and business coaching, it's a major income stream for me.
In a nutshell, I came out of the fog of an intensive period of selling seats to two group programs, working with a coach for 8 weeks and having a new website to find.... almost no bookings in my diary for the coming months.
This was not good.
What had happened?
An audit revealed two contributors.
One was that I had a whole bunch of supervisees finish up due to finishing placement and registrar programs, retiring and closing their practices. Because I was so focused elsewhere I hadn't done the math on this.
The other was that I had stopped talking about my supervision services.
I had stopped marketing this service. That's why people weren't sure if I still provided supervision.
The good news. I can't stop people moving on and living their lives but I can market.
So that's what I did.
I used all the strategies I teach in Marketing Magic and within 2-3 weeks things had turned around.
The bookings are flowing in again and I have some new longer term supervisees filling the spots of those who have moved on.
If you're experiencing a sudden change in your bookings, don't delay. Marketing really makes a difference.
Yours in thriving,
Nadene
